How to Manage DNS Records of a Domain from SolidCP
1. Kindly login into your SolidCP account.
2. Click on the “Domains” logo under the “System” Section.
3. After proceeding to the next page, there will be a list of created domain shown. Click on the domain which you
wish to change or manage the domain’s DNS record.
4. Click on the “Edit DNS zone records”. From the next screen, you'll be able to manage DNS records of the
selected domain.

A record
What is an A record?
A record is used to point your website to the server. A record only accepts IPv4 address and AAAA record for
IPv6.
1. Click on add record in order to add A record.
2. After proceeding to the next screen, select A record type from the drop down menu. You need to specify
“records name” and the IPs as the example shown below. Remember to click save to add the new record.
MX record
What is a MX record ?
MX record is also known as mail exchange record which is used for the email service.
1. Click on add record in order to add MX record.
2. After proceeding to the next screen, select MX record type from the drop down menu. You need to specify
the “record data” and the “MX priority” as the example shown below. You can leave the “record name”
blank. The lower the “MX priority” the higher the priority. Remember to click save to add the new record.
CNAME record
What is a CNAME record ?
CNAME is also known as “Canonical Record”. CNAME is used as an alias of your domain name.
1. Click on add record in order to add CNAME record.
2. After proceeding to the next screen, select CNAME record type from the drop down menu. You need to
specify the “record data” and the “record name” as the example shown below. You can fill in the “record
name” with www, blog and etc.The “record data” is used to specify the URL. Remember to click save to
add the new record.
TXT record
What is a TXT record ?
TXT record is also known as Text Record. TXT record is used to identify which email server is allowed to send
emails from the domain.
1. Click on add record in order to add CNAME record.
2. After proceeding to the next screen, select TXT record type from the drop down menu. You need to specify
specify the “record data” with SPF record. You can leave “record name” blank. Remember to click save to
add the new record.
Edit DNS Records
You can also modify and edit existing DNS records. In order to do that you need to click on the “pencil”
logo on the left side of the record name.
Delete DNS Records
You also can delete unused DNS records by clicking on the “Bin” logo on the right side of the column.
SolidCP window’s control panel only supports total 7 DNS records which is., A, AAAA, MX, NS, TXT, CNAME and
SRV. Otherwise you wish to add other than that 7 DNS records, you will need to add them directly thorough DNS
zone of a domain.
Note - The changes made in nameservers and DNS records may require 24-48 hours to propagate across
the globe.
