How to setup email account for iPhone 



1.    Select “Settings” from the home screen of your iPhone





2.    Choose Passwords & Accounts.



 



3.    Click on Add Account.





4. Choose Other from appeared list.


 




5. Select Add Mail Account


In the New Account menu, you will need to specify the following records:


Name: your name, it will appear as a sender name 


Address: your full email address ([email protected])


Password: password of this email address


Description: you can specify any description. But we advise you to specify your email address





6. Click on Next.


 

7.     Select protocol type: IMAP or POP3. We will show the sample of using IMAP. 

    

   The selected one will be highlighted in blue.





8.     Settings are equal both for IMAP and POP3 on this step. 


        Now please fill in the “Incoming Server” and “Outgoing Server”.  


        Please refer to the example below. 


NON-SSL 

 

Incoming mail server POP/IMAP : mail.yourdomain.com

 

Outgoing mail server SMTP : mail.yourdomain.com

 

(replace your OWN domain name for yourdomain)

 

 

SSL

Incoming mail server POP/IMAP : serverhostname.com

 

Outgoing mail server SMTP : serverhostname.com

 

 

(serverhostname refers to the name of the server that is hosting your website.

9. Click on Next.

 


10.When the check is finished, you will be redirected to IMAP / POP3 settings and click on Save.





11.    In order to set up additional settings for mail accounts, you need to return in 


         previous menu Passwords & Accounts and click on your newly created accounts.





12.    Click your newly created account and go to Account Info. 

         

         Scroll down the screen and select Advanced:


         As for the incoming and outgoing Host Name, may use the server host name


        (may find the server hostname from https://intodns.com/ -> MX -> server hostname) 


        In the below example the server hostname shall be larva.mschosting.com






13.    You will be able to choose additional settings for IMAP or POP3. 


         Toggle SSL into green colour if your email come with SSL. For POP or IMAP, 


         key in the respective values for port. Please refer to the example below.


NON-SSL

 

Incoming POP : 110

 

Incoming IMAP : 143

 


SSL

 

Incoming POP : 995

 

Incoming IMAP : 993

 



14.    In order to set up settings for Outgoing Server, you will need to enter the 


         Outgoing Mail Server via clicking on the SMTP setting and then click on Primary Server. 


         Please toggle the Use SSL if your email come with SSL



NON-SSL

 

Outgoing for POP and IMAP : 587

 

SSL

 

Outgoing for POP and IMAP : 465




15. Once settings are verified, your account is active and ready to use.


How to enable SMTP authentication in iPhone



This article will guide you in order to enable SMTP Authentication on your iPhone


1) Select "Settings" from your home screen


2) Select "Mail, Contacts, Calendar"


3) Select your email address


4) Select "SMTP" under the "Outgoing Mail Server" section


5) Select the "Primary Server"


6) Ensure "Authentication" is set to "Password"


7) Ensure hostname is set to "mail.yourdomain.com"


8) Ensure the port is set to 587


9) Ensure SSL is switched "Off"


10) Enter the username (Your full email address)


11) Enter the mailbox password -> Done




iPhone / iPad CalDav Sync with Linux Horde Webmail

 

1) Go to Settings on your iPhone/ iPad


2) Tap Passwords & Accounts


3) Tap Add Account




4) Tap Other


5) Tap Add CalDAV Account




6) Enter the following details for your account: 


 Server: To obtain the server URL may perform the below steps: 


 Login to cPanel -> Email Accounts -> Choose on the Email Account -> Configure Calendars and Contacts ->  Direct URLs for Calendars and Contacts         


 May get the URL from Secure SSL/TLS URLs or Non-SSL/TLS URLs on Calendar


 Username: Full email address 


 Password: Email account password


   


7)Tap Next in the upper right corner to verify the account.


8) Tap Save in the top right corner.





Configure Exchange ActiveSync on the iPhone

Applies to: SmarterMail 6.x (Enterprise only)


Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync is available as an optional add-on to Smartermail.  

Unlike other synchronization methods, Exchange ActiveSync uses direct push technology to sync email, calendars, and contacts to the iPhone in real time.


Once you have activated Exchange ActiveSync from your Smartermail account, you will need to configure the iPhone to function with Exchange ActiveSync.



To set up your iPhone to access Exchange ActiveSync, follow these steps:


  1. On your iPhone's home screen, tap Settings.
  2. Tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
  3. Tap Add Mail Account.
  4. Tap Microsoft Exchange. NOTE: Only one Exchange ActiveSync account can be set up at once.
  5. Complete the following required fields:
    • Email (your full email address)
    • Domain name
    • Username (without @domainname.com)
    • Password
    • Description
  6. Tap Next.
  7. After a moment, the iPhone will ask for the server information. This is the URL to your webmail. For example, mail.example.com. NOTE: Do not include http:// when entering the server information.
  8. Tap Next.
  9. If your webmail does not support SSL, the following message will display: "Exchange account verification failed."
    • Tap Next and then tap Save. Complete step 10 of these setup instructions.
    • After step 10, edit the account you just added.
    • Tap Account Info.
    • Change "Use SSL" to "Off."
  10. The iPhone will display a list of collaboration items to sync with Exchange ActiveSync. Choose from the list and tap Done to initiate the first sync.
