Announcement - Twilio SendGrid Is Deprecating Support for TLS Versions 1.0 and 1.1

Dear Clients,

Affected product:

Transactional Email (SendGrid)

Only clients that is using TLS versions 1.0 or 1.1. under SendGrid will be affected.

What do you need to know?

Our vendor: Twilio SendGrid will be deprecating its support for TLS Versions 1.0 and 1.1. After April 20, 2023, any mail sent using these TLS versions will fail to send.

Why is this happening?

These TLS versions have security vulnerabilities and Twilio SendGrid is taking preemptive action to make our mail pipeline safer.

What do you need to do?

To limit impact to your mail processing, vendor ask that you upgrade all libraries that use TLS versions 1.0 and 1.1 in your mail pipeline.

They have created APIs for you to test your configuration on before the April 20, 2023 deadline (tls12.api.sendgrid.com for HTTP and tls12.smtp.sendgrid.net for SMTP).

Please refer to their documentation for more information.

https://docs.sendgrid.com/for-developers/sending-email/support-for-tls-12

What if you don’t take action?

If no action is taken, any attempt at sending mail will be met with handshake issues. This will prevent mail requests from reaching Twilio SendGrid which means no mail can be sent through your account.

Sincerely,

Best Regards,

Support Team,
